American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee and Vanessa Hudgens, star of the upcoming High School Musical 3, took the stage together to rehearse for the TNT Holiday special Christmas In Washington.

Katharine McPhee has been in the headlines recently due to her reported recent engagement to 42 year old Nick Cokas.  Vanessa Hudgens has been in the news for signing a hefty contract to appear in HSM 3, as well as for being a search-engine star for those nude photos back in September.   But we’ve forgiven her for that.

One fan reportedly met up with Vanessa and is quoted by the Gossip Girls as being quite enthusiastic about the entire experience.

“I MET HER (Hudgens)!!! First time ever! She talked on her cell phone for a little bit and mentioned ‘Ashley (Tisdale?)‘. She didn’t have an actual duet with Ne-Yo, although Colbie Caillat and Ne-Yo did sing a song together. All four performers than sang a song in unison with the huge children’s choir. Her voice was SOOOOOOOOO beautiful. My dad and I were blown away. She was SOOO nice and sweet. She was great with the little kids and was joking around on stage after she performed. Totally down to earth,” gushed the fan.

Other artists scheduled to perform include Alan Jackson, Andrea Bocelli, and Heather Headley.  Christmas In Washington will be shown on TNT Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10PM ET/PT.
