Sony Makes It Official: 40GB PS3 Is Announced
Published by Robert Staehlin October 5th, 2007 in Gaming, Sony, PlayStation 3.At long last, the rumored new discount PlayStation 3 has been announced by Sony, and it’s certainly going to help move some inventory.
The 40GB PS3 will retail for a consumer-friendly £299 and it’s almost exactly the same as the 60 gig model except for a couple of different features that have been yoinked.
PlayStation 2 backwards compatibility will be gone in this PS3, there will only be two USB ports, and the slots for Compact Flash, Memory Stick, and SD Cards have also bit the dust.
Additionally, the current 60GB Starter Pack has been slashed down to £349, but when once those are gone, they will not be replenished. The new unit has only been revealed for Europe at the moment, although it is expected that the States will see a similar announcement in the near future.
