Britney Spears has been the butt of many a joke lately, but her latest downfall has led to her children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, being taken away from her.  And there’s nothing funny about that.

However, US Magazine is reporting that according to her friend Sam Lufti, it’s all been a big misunderstanding but she’s hanging in there.

“She is doing OK,” he told the magazine. “It has been a rough day. She is feeling very optimistic about the future.”

But the decision to give Kevin Federline custody of her children was due to simple conflict in the schedule.

“There were scheduling conflicts and some errors in communication as to times and places for drug tests, etc., but they’re all squared away now,” he explained.  ”[Spears] is hoping the judge will reverse the order Wednesday, now that she is making steps to follow through with what they asked.”
