Paris Hilton Released From Jail, Under House Arrest
Published by Rachel Baumbach June 8th, 2007 in Entertainment, Celebrity.Paris Hilton has been released from Century Regional Detention Facility almost three weeks before her sentence was complete.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said she had been reassigned to house arrest and that a medical condition “played a part” in the decision. She will have to serve 40 days staying in the confines of her luxurious home.
“I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally,” said Hilton in a statement released by her attorney Richard A. Hutton.
“I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes.”
It appears that the lessons to be learned from her mistakes are that the best way to get one’s sentence softened is to be a rich hotel heiress with a great attorney.
