Paris Hilton: Free At Last?
Published by Rachel Baumbach June 7th, 2007 in Entertainment, Celebrity.According to the gossip website TMZ, Paris Hilton is already free from jail after serving only three days of her 23 day sentence. She had originally been sentenced to 45 days, but that sentence had been quickly reduced.
From the report:
TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!
Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.
No other details have been released as of yet, and she has not yet been sighted by any other sources. The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will be holding a press conference shortly to address the issue.
It was a good thing when she was sent home.. Almost. I say that because in an effort to prove they wouldn’t give her preferential treatment, then ended up giving her too big of a punishment. 45 days in solitary confinement is a bit harsh considering this was a traffic violation. Many other people with similar violations got less punishments.
George Michaels, the famous pop star, was found slumped over his steering wheel at an intersection after doing heavy drugs. The judge gave him 100 hours of community services and he didn’t have to stay in jail. Paris must be punished, but the punishment must fit with what she did. It can’t be over done and it can’t be underdone. It’s hard to choose what’s right, but the way it currently is seems too much. If they could meet in the middle somewhere it would be better.
