Nintendo Wii Hard Drive: Pure Rumour & Speculation?

Wii Hard Drive rumors from IGN shot down by Nintendo It looks like all the hoopla about a Wii hard drive may be a wee bit premature.

It all began with an IGN podcast in which Mark Bozon and Matt Casamassina theorized that since the upcoming Neo Geo Virtual Console titles will be so large, a Nintendo Wii hard drive would soon be announced to accomodate the girth. Apparently not, however.

The website Spong went straight to the source and asked a Nintendo rep whether there was any truth behind the frenzy. The rep gave the following sobering response: “It is pure rumour and spec and none of it is based in any fact or announcement.”

Then again, Microsoft vehemently denied the existence of the Xbox 360 Elite right up to the day it was announced to the public. So you never really do know.

Sounds all well and good, we will just have to wait and see what nintendo can produce.
