Jordin Sparks Wins American Idol 6

Jordin Sparks is the newest winner of American Idol, receiving more votes than the runner-up Blake Lewis. At 17, she is the youngest person to ever take home the prize.
“I can’t thank you [enough] for keeping me around,” said Sparks, her voice overcome with emotion. “Thank you so much for everything.” She then was required to sing “This Is My Now”, which is song that will hopefully never be heard again now that the season has ended.
Even though the majority of humanity believed that Jordin was a shoo-in, over 74 million fans still voted in Tuesday night’s final competition.
Naturally, Sanjaya Malakar made an apperance as well, singing the Kinks “You Really Got Me”; making his superfan Ashley Ferl shed some more tears. He went into the crowd and said hello again, naturally.
Even though it will be debated throughout the ages who should have really won, it was a fun season nonetheless. We’ll be back for number seven!
i was hoping blake would win cuz he is hot. but jordin really desurves it because she is the better singer. congrats to both of them though =]
