Nintendo Wii Designer Miyamato Earns Time 100 Nom
Published by Robert Staehlin April 26th, 2007 in Nintendo, Wii.Time Magazine is choosing its annual Time 100 and Wii designer extraordinaire Shigeru Miyamato has made the final cut of 203 most influential nominees. He is the most successful designer for Nintendo Wii; Miyamoto is the genius behind The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario…heck, the guy created Donkey Kong.
Here’s how Time Magazine lists Miyamoto’s pros and cons:
PRO: Most successful game designer, creator of Super Mario, Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda, whose new platform, the Wii, is currently the top-selling game console.
CON: His perfectionist tendencies often result in games being significantly delayed and, despite the Wii’s gameplay innovation, its graphics are far behind the competition.
Mr. Miyamoto is doing quite well in the voting at the moment, sitting firmly at the number two slot between Stephen Colbert at the top slot and J.K. Rowling at number three. It’s certainly not bad company to be in.
