GTA IV (PS3, Xbox 360) Trailer Reveals Return To Liberty City

The suspense is over — after millions of gamers pondered which city GTA IV was headed to on PS3 and Xbox 360, the question has been answered.
It’s back to Liberty City, baby!
The locale for Grand Theft Auto IVactually hasn’t been officially announced, but the trailer that was newly released clearly showed the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Times Square. And Liberty City has always been the stand-in for New York City, so there you have it.
When MTV asked Rockstar who the fella with the accent is and where he comes from, the rep responded: “We would like to let the trailer speak for itself. However, we can confirm that all footage in the trailer ‘Things Will Be Different’ was captured directly from 720p gameplay running real time in our RAGE engine on a next-gen gaming console.”
The seemingly-gorgeous title will hit the shelves October 16th for Xbox 360 and PS3.
it blatantly ISNT liberty city…come on,we had that in gta 3,which for the first time,words cant describe,then in liberty city stories which was cool but youd seen it all before. you think rockstar will do a 3rd outting there? their gta next gen debut?uh uh…its a new city,possibly new york based but NOT lib city. if it is liberty city i wont be buying it,id see that as just lazy on rockstars part,and being a massive gta fan,i have every hope it isnt liberty city,although the possibilty of a few missions there,like in san andreas,would be cool,as is the `visit vice city for 300 dollars`prospect
The GTA trailer was said to be running on a next gen console. I think it was running on an XBOX 360. why?
XBOX 360 has a higher graphics memory so textures are alot sharper, and Rocksar would want their in game footage to look good on their debut trailer
XBOX 360 has a much smoother frame rate in games compared to the same games on PS3 (Check out gametrailers.com for various comparisons armored core being the latest)
XBOX360 Has better shadows, however it always is flickery, u can see this in many games on the 360, and in the trailer the shadows were flickering around or shimmering.
The game itself may be better on the PS3 because it will have as many content as the Blu-ray disc can fit. while the xbox will have downloads for any other content they cant fit on a DVD-disc. Think back to xbox anouncement of GTAIV. the new XBOX ELITE and 120GB hardrive.
It is liberty city atleast part of the game come on the trailer obvously shows this and stop being an xbox fanboy both systems are good PS3 is a litle bit more powerful so just be quiet.

Mate IT IS LIBERTY CITY!! Did u not watch the clip?? Not only is Liberty City a copy of NYC but in the trailer it BLATANTLY SHOW LIBERTY CITY AND SAYS IT!! Look when u are at the dock with the ferry. Look at the back, the name of the ship is ‘Platypus’. Now look at the name of the CITY under it, and stand corrected.
And the guy has a RUSSIAN accent.
