Robert Scoble of Scobleizer : Microsoft sucks Blogger Robert Scoble is a blogging legend who’s known for being a straight shooter, even when working for Microsoft from 2003-2006.After leaving the company, he still had kind words and often defended his former employer.

But when Microsoft recently boasted to MVPs that “were in it to win“, Scoble had had enough.

“I dont think Microsoft is. The words are empty. Microsofts Internet execution sucks (on whole). Its search sucks. Its advertising sucks,” he wrote on Scobleizer. “If thats ‘in it to win’ then I dont get it.”

Scoble is a realist; he has no illusions that Microsoft is going down the tubes any time soon. But when it comes to their internet strategy, he’d rather they did less talking the talk and more walking the walk.

“Microsoft isnt going away. Dont get me wrong. They have record profits, record sales, all that. But on the Internet? Come on. This isnt winning. Microsoft: stop the talk. Ship a better search, a better advertising system than Google, a better hosting service than Amazon, a better cross-platform Web development ecosystem than Adobe, and get some services out there that are innovative (wheres the video RSS reader? Blog search? Something like Yahoos Pipes? A real blog service? A way to look up people?) Thats how you win,” he explained.
