PS3 Home Beta Site Is Up And…Boring

Sony’s much anticipated Home for PS3 now has an up-and-running website to go along with it for beta testing. Ready to join in on the fun before everybody else? Get to the back of the line, buddy.
Here’s what the uber-sparse website has to say so far:
Welcome to Home Beta. Home is a real-time 3D, networked community that serves as a meeting place for PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) users from around the world, where they can interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share content and even build their own personal spaces. Home will be available as a free download from the PLAYSTATION Store and will launch directly from the PS3 system’s Home Menu. Keep checking back on this site to register an interest in taking part in an exclusive closed Beta Trial of Home.
Guess obsessively reloading will have to suffice for now.
Huh? Why does the title for the subject have the “boring”? It doesn’t mention anything about why it is boring. :S

Wow, another fantastic reporter made a fantastic story, he picked up a site from something that was anounced a few hours ago and he says it is boring…? Well, YOU have a boring life for sure, and you are lazy, you probably are just another M$ hore… STFU, you are not a journalist, you are a pathetic animal that thinks by bashing Sony you are a great professional. I think you guys are misunderstanding what I meant, or perhaps I wasn’t clear as I could have been. Personally, I am quite excited about Home and want to be a part of the beta process. Hence, my “obsessively reloading” comment.
However, the beta site at the moment IS boring. A one page website with a teaser paragraph is hardly the pinnacle of excitement. I’m perplexed how anybody could possibly argue otherwise, to be honest.
Yea Nice job Buddy?? seem like the typical trick the media has been using counting on allot of people not reading the story just the head line. Actually possibly being paid to do so by competing companies I have noticed this trick along with others all over the place. for instance CompUSA refused to post some positive remarks on the PS3 and somewhat opinions on the Wii. Just crafty media and and other companys playing games and filling there pockets.
But Home is not about a website or a beta site, well, beeing a beta site would made sence because they are probably preparing something more informative, Home is a Sony PS3 online service as Phill pointed and the probable reason for the site to be just like that is because they are anouncing Home in a Professional convention, they are informing Game developers, not the public (of course that we the fanboys ou Sony-haters want to be informed), I just think it is a bit premature to launch that kind of idea from “HOME”, even if you meant the website that is not “Home” itself, after so many months of sony bashing all over the medias I think it is time ppl to get more optimistic and stop pointing all the litlle negative aspects they can find, lets be happy about video-games and the available hardware, PS3 is a fantastic system that is costing lots of money to Sony and is the vision and work of so many people in the company, people at Sony deserve to be honored for the fantastic work their doing, I think people should calm down a litlle bit because in that war of consoles nobody wins, and in the case of Sony and PS3 people went to the extreme, Sony seems the bigest target for all the bad news, they did some mistakes yes (I am from Portugal so imagine… ), but they also made and are making some great things, I sheer Sony and talking “Sony” I mean engineersm software developers, hardware experts, everyone…. And I’m very impressed with Robert Staehlin by the way he ansered me, you are a good sence man afterall, you responded in a much mature way then I did, but I allready explained Why I reacted like that!

what does one expect on something that isn’t even 72 hours old. I know that there are expectations on certain aspects, but damn give them some time to at least build some content in it.
I agree with the others Mr. Staehlin that the title of your aticle is mis-leading. The title is giving the false assumption that the home beta is boring to interact with. It does come off as Sony bashing.
The message states that the beta has not started yet. To call the Home beta boring is like calling Metal Gear Solid 4 a boring game even though I never played it. The website is up, the beta is not and I have never been on a beta website that is exciting.
The first thing that come to my mind when i read that headline from Google ps3 news search, was the beta site is up and running and your experience was boring, so the world had to be told, unfortunatly by you.Stupid headline.

Whatever PS3 Home is way better than XBox Live and I’mean Peter moore didn’t even realize what he said by that statement when he said XBox Live is a basic easy to use online service well PS2 online was even more easier and basic but of course when it was PS2 and XBox, XBox fans were braging about how many features the XBox Live has than PS2 online and now in this next generation when Microsoft showed the new XBox Live saying that you can play music and movie’s and play games and watch show’s and play arcade games and download demo’s and game trailers well there not actually making there online service easier if they said there online is easy to use and basic how can all of those features be basic cause its not, they lied so his words actually back fired on him in what he said so technically there adding features to there online service and they are calling that basic how pathetic for Microsoft for saying that there online is basic when clearly the PS2 online is more basic than XBox Live and all you needed to do is enter the game and your online on your PS2 and it was so much easier than XBox Live
so now its the next generation they still call there’s basic how dumb is that and Microsoft even braged that PS3 will never have the best online service cause it has no features like achievements and features that 360 doe’s have that PS3 doesn’t and now look at them saying that there’s is basic and easy when there just lieing
and of course when Sony announced this new online service Microsoft is saying its going to be super hard for gamers to get around and find some thing that they want in PS3 Home and making excuse’s like what if the gamers just want to play games instead of going to PS3 Home but of course Sony already said that if they want to just play games instead of going to PS3 Home they can just launch the game that they want to play online and able to avoid home at the same time so Microsoft is just making one excuse after another and making there XBox Live sound important and of course PS3 Home has way more features much more to do and if your done playing multplayer online you can meet your friends back in PS3 Home and actually auction your stuff that you made and get real money so PS3 Home is way better than XBox Live.
Its an amazing feature, and just adds more reason why the ps3 is clearly the best system.

Who care’s if its site is 72 or 72K hours old - the vendor had as long as they needed BEFORE launching to put something together. It’s a rush job and is as bloody boring as bat sheet.
We should be complaining to Sony about the half arsed job by their drop kick team of marketing wankers - give them the chop and hire people who can perform. PS3 Live smells like a fizzer.
This guy is just an idiot period, Home looks great so far is Microsft biggest nightmare cant wait to see MS crying. Sharing movies music photos while playing chatting virtually that sounds like perfection a lot of fun unlike xbox live .

It very clearly states that the “PS3 Home Beta SITE…” is up, not the PS3 Home Beta itself. He is, therefore, right. The site IS boring. End of story. Just like any other placeholder site out there.
