Creator Yoot Saito shows Odama on WiiOdama was an innovative title that combined war gaming with pinball on GameCube to mixed reviews– is the game now making a comeback on Wii? It would certainly appear so, since creator Yoot Saito was recently seen toying around with a prototype on Nintendo Wii.

From Siliconera:

At the Japanese media arts festival Yoot Saito, the creator of Odama, showed a prototype of Odama on the Wii. Instead of using voice control you would use single button controls and Wiimote pointing to control your army. This suggests that it could get the Wii-make treatment or these experimental controls might be used in another Yoot Saito Wii project in the future.

This is one of those situations where a mic sure would come in handy on Nintendo’s new console. For those who aren’t familiar with the GameCube title, here’s a brief primer by way of Nintendo:

The legendary general Yamanouchi Kagetora, intent on avenging his fathers death, has devised the most ingenious weapon ever to hit the medieval battlefield: the Odama, a gigantic ball powerful enough to destroy whatever it strikes friend or foe. Players use the Nintendo GameCube Mic to direct soldiers out of the Odamas way and into the fray, and prove that they have the skills to back up the power of the Odama.
