HS: Xbox 360 Games Best Nintendo Wii, PS3
Published by Josh Foster May 3rd, 2007 in Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii.Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Blue Dragon and Final Fantasy, talked frankly about Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 in the most recent issue of EGM magazine.
“Microsoft has to change its marketing strategy in Japan,” he said. “There are a lot of excellent games on Xbox 360, far better games than what’s on the Wii or PS3. But not a lot of people in Japan have a clear idea what games like Gears of War are all about. Just look at the Windows Vista commercial — it’s terrible.”
And that was kind compared to his feelings about Sony’s next-gen console, and specifically, ex-Sony CEO Ken Kutaragi. When asked why he has nothing planned for PlayStation 3, he responded: “The machine’s architecture is tricky, and I don’t like Ken Kutaragi.”
We did say he spoke frankly, didn’t we?
He didn’t have anything negative to say about Nintendo’s console, but doesn’t have anything on the horizon planned, either. “The system is intriguing, but right now, I have no plans on making a game for the Wii.”
EGM 216 June 2007 Issue goes on sale May 8.

I think MS should fire it’s entire marketing department in Japan. It’s not just brand loyalty that’s keeping down sales. It’s a very different culture, I mean, look at Blue Dragon the Xbox’s biggest seller. People are actually buying the xbox just to play the game. I’m a big fan of rpg’s but I look at that game and scratch my head, I just don’t get it. And that’s exactly what the Japanese gamers are doing when they see an Xbox commercial asking them to “Jump In”.
the xbox 360 does have the best set of games, Gears, Halo3, forza 2, mass effect, fable 2, that just a few of the exclusives they have. not to mention too human, strangle hold, dmc4, kane and lynch and project gotham racing 4 witch is an exclusive. plus they have support from all the game companies, EA,Ubisoft(splintercell 5 exclusive), take-two, 2k, an all the rest. and I don’t like Ken Kutaragi.”
